軟物質物理(Soft Matter Physics)是研究介于傳統固體與液體之間的一類複雜可變物質體系的科學分支。典型的軟物質包括高分子、膠體、液晶、泡沫、乳液、凝膠以及生物組織等。他們的共同特征是:結構柔軟、能量尺度低、易受外界條件影響。它們的微觀結構和宏觀性質往往在外力、溫度、濃度或界面張力等因素作用下發生顯著變化。本團隊的研究聚焦該體系下的新現象、新物理、新機制。

目前團隊成員7人,包括1位美國工程院外籍院士、1位國家級青年人才、2位教授和3位副教授組成,團隊負責人滿興坤教授。發表了PRL10餘篇,Nature Com. 2篇,Physics Reports綜述1篇等多篇SCI論文。主持多項國家自然科學基金,包含重點項目,中以國際合作項目等。在牛津大學出版社出版軟物質物理教科書《Soft Matter Physics》。土井正男教授予2014年獲得德國洪堡研究獎,以及2016年當選美國工程院外籍院士。成員受邀擔任《Chinese Chemical Letters》(中國化學快報)、《Advanced Physics Research》、《Macromolecular Theory and Simulations》編委會委員。
